Capabilities
- Membership
- We have 60 members with various levels of fire fighting
training. New members take approximately 120 hours of FireFighter I
class. After that members then take FireFighter II. There
are advanced training classes available including: Firefighter III, Safety & Survival, Engine/pumping Operations, Truck (Ladder) operations,
ice rescue, confined space and more.
- Apparatus
- We have five pieces of apparatus: Two engines, two ladders and
one rescue.
- Rescue
- Specialized training is required to rescue people from certain
hazardous situations, such as motor vehicle crashes.
- Support surrounding towns' fire departments
- We provide manpower and apparatus to any surrounding town that
requests our assistance. This can include FAST/RIC team
(firefighter assist/rapid intervention crew), ladder truck or a rescue
truck equipped with Hurst "Jaws of Life", and a cascade
system to fill SCBA air bottles.
- Education in our schools
- During Fire Prevention Week we travel to our schools to
provide fire safety education to our students.
