SERVING THE TOWNSHIP OF ROXBURY FOR OVER 85 YEARS

Roxbury Chemical Engine Company No. 1 has served the residents and visitors of Roxbury since 1917 with around-the-clock emergency medical and fire services. During 2004, Roxbury Company Number 1 responded to over 1300 calls for assistance –with an all volunteer membership. Roxbury Fire and EMS does not charge the people it serves. It does not matter if they are Roxbury residents or out-of-towners who require emergency medical services while visiting or passing through our town. In addition to staffing the fire apparatus and ambulances, the volunteer members of the RFD must contribute additional time in order to stay current with the extensive training required under State requirements.

We are never to busy for you!

5/2/2008 - Dell Ave Structure Fire

Around 10pm RFD was requested for a fully involved structure. On arrival crews were met with heavy fire conditions. This fire lasted well into the next morning being brought under control around 3am.

4/18/2008 - Emmans Road Shed Fire

Emmans Road

At about 12am RFD was dispatched for a reported shed fire. First arriving chief had a shed fully involved between 2 houses. RFD quickly knocked down the blaze saving any severe damage to the houses.

3/22/2008 - Joyce Drive House Fire

During the early morning hours of March 22, 2008 RFD1 was called for a working house fire. On arrival crew found fire on the exterior of the home with extension to the crawl space above the garage. Crews quickly knocked the fire down keeping damage to a minimum.
